Logo Contest Voting, Part 3

Another excellent entry has just come in. While I have narrowed down the field again, my choice is only getting harder.

You can still enter the contest if you can send it in by Friday.

Logo Contest Voting, Part 2

I've added a couple of new entries I just received to the voting page and have removed a bunch that are no longer in the running.

There is still time to enter the contest.

What is 25% better than Civilization 4?

No game design stuff this week. As of tomorrow, I shall be completely immersed in Civilization V. I scheduled my vacation to coincide with its release.

No, that is not a joke.

Yes, ladies, I'm a real catch.

I shall emerge from my living room in a week with a scraggly beard and an obsessive need for just one more turn.

Logo Contest Voting

As part of the logo design competition I launched a couple of weeks ago, I have put up a page for your feedback on the entries so far. The vote is non-binding, but I'd like some help in narrowing the choices down.

Please use this post's comments section to discuss the entries themselves.

To all of those who have entered, thank you for doing so. If you haven't entered yet, there is still time to do so.

Now go vote!

Playtesters

Inspiration to Publication: The most important Commodity

The only thing I'll add to this is to thank everyone who's ever playtested a design of mine for giving me their time and thought towards improving my games. Even if I didn't incorporate your specific suggestion, that didn't make it any less important in the arc of development.

Logo Contest

Okay, I give up. I am asking the community to help me come up with a logo. Let's start with the carrot. If I select your design as my new logo you get:
  • One free copy of any design of mine that ever gets published
"Now hold on there, Michael," you object, "what if you are never published? You've been at this for over four years and have still not been published!"

Aha! I have thought of that. I'll give you a bird in the hand along with the two in the bush. In addition to the above, the winner will also receive:
  • One prototype copy of any one of my designs
This means that, worst comes to worst, you will at least have a one-of-a-kind game that no one else will get.

As a reminder, here is a list of eligible choices of prototype games to receive:Other designs which I've spoken about here that are not on that list are just not in even a playable state.

Now that you're undoubtedly waiting with bated breath to enter, here are the rules.
  1. Designs must be e-mailed to logo@visiblehandgames.com
  2. Make sure that they are either vector graphics or of high enough resolution that they can be printed large without losing fidelity
  3. You must own all rights to the work you submit and relinquish those rights to me
  4. If no one is selected as an actual winner, I will select the best entry received and that person will receive the one prototype copy prize
  5. Winner is responsible for shipping costs
  6. All entries must be received by 11:59PM EST on September 30, 2010
  7. These rules are subject to change without notice

Finally, you can see my failed attempts to design a logo myself for ideas on themes I am interested in as well as ideas that just didn't work. Just remember that the name of the company represented by the logo has to be Visible Hand Games.
